This piece is a metaphor of leading the way. The central focus a ship, a flagship,
set upon calm and tranquil waters, strong and controlled. The mast of the boat is
dominant and tall and acts as a representation of stability creating an impression
of solidity, elongated within the image to capture an overall feeling of power and a
domineering force. I have used a limited colour pallet to create a feeling of unity within
the image, symbolic of working together and the presentation of a united front, with
fluidity of mark describing an organic and flexible approach to the challenges faced,
but held together with areas of implied detail to emphasize a form, and a
recognisable familiarity. My overall aim to visually describe the apparent, seamless
grace and elegance of a buoyant object, with the workings, although unseen,
imperative to success as a driving force!
