Gary Selby

University of the West of England

Gary_SelbyMy whole childhood I have watched cows walk about with egrets on their backs. I thought the renowned symbiotic relationship between cows and egrets would be an ideal representation of the themes ‘working together’ and ‘support’. The term symbiosis as described in the dictionary refers to close and often long-term interactions where both species benefit from one another.  The image is also representative of the long friendly sustainable relationships Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance maintains with their clients.

I used textures achieved from experimenting in the print rooms and brought them together by layering them up digitally in Photoshop. The cow was drawn with charcoal and pencil from observation in a field opposite my college.

Theme: Working together/Support
Medium: Mono print and digital
